Collection Storage

The collection storage is the space dedicated to the conservation of Matamajaw's collection.

Several artifacts related to the site's history can be found there, including specific fishing rods, expedition stencils, fishing records, etc. In addition to ensuring their conservation and preservation, the institution conducts research on these artifacts. These objects are inventoried in our digital inventory, which is available for consultation on-site.

The development of the collection storage was made possible thanks to the government of Canada.

Are you a student, researcher, or just curious about history, and interested in fishing heritage?
We would be happy to welcome you to the Keeper's House to consult our collection and library at any time with our collections manager.

Library

The museum has listed the reference works in our possession. These are mostly documents on the theme of fishing, cultural heritage, and the history of the region.

We have compiled their inventory on the Zotero site, which can be consulted by everyone right here: zotero.org

You are a student, a researcher, or simply curious about history and would like to consult these documents?

We will be happy to welcome you to the Guardian's House.
